Key Objectives of the Program

  1. The primary objectives of the Healthcare Assistant program include:

    • Providing Direct Patient Care Services:

      • Students will learn to perform basic health assessments to monitor patients’ conditions.
      • Engage in vital signs monitoring, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration.
      • Assist patients with hygiene needs, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
      • Support patients during meals and ensure proper nutritional intake according to individual dietary requirements.
      • Help with mobility and transportation, aiding patients in moving within the healthcare facility safely.
    • Assisting with Daily Living Activities:

      • Train to help patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) to promote independence and dignity.
      • Learn effective techniques for transferring patients safely, using mobility aids, and providing support to those with limited mobility.
      • Offer companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a caring environment that enhances mental well-being.
